| The need |
| Webtour was looking for a user-friendly and relatively
economical intranet solution, providing easy access to
up-to-date information. In other words, there was a need
for an online portal, where all employees within the
company would post and retrieve all kinds of
information; a secure and reliable collaboration and
communication network, where users could access a
virtual lending
library, manage contacts
online,
maintain a
meeting calendar, keep a
todo list /
task list (online
calendar software,
online scheduling software). |

The benefits

Participants were provided with a unique username and
password to access InfoPort™
ASP intranet through the
web. They were also provided with different access
rights so that confidential information would be
safeguarded. No additional investments in hardware were
required, since any computer capable of accessing the
internet is able to use InfoPort™. On the other hand,
InfoPort™ was the most
affordable solution for Webtour,
since the latter incurred pays only a low monthly charge
per user. |

(lending library):
Archive serves as a virtual
lending library for
printed and electronic material (e.g. books,
magazines, CD-ROMs, useful links, etc). |

AddressBook
(manage contacts): users of InfoPort™
manage
contacts, store and
retrieve addresses, telephone numbers, as well as
other useful contact information. |

InTouch
(meeting calendar):
through InTouch submodule of InfoPort™, users
organize meetings, send and receive messages from
other participants, as well as share a group
meeting calendar. |

ToDo (todo list /
task list, online calendar software / online
scheduling software):
users of InfoPort™ are able to manage their own
todo list / task
list, assign tasks to others, monitor the
progress of tasks, as well as manage recurring tasks.
Otherwise known as

TextBoard
(news and announcements): TextBoard is a virtual bulletin board
where all users of InfoPort™ can post and read
documents and articles of common interest (e.g.
announcements, reports, etc). |

AssetShare
(reserve items and space): users are able to reserve various
items (e.g. projectors, portable computers, etc) and
space (e.g. meeting rooms, etc) for a particular
date and time. |
